WEIGHT UPDATE & RECENT EATS WEDNESDAY!

Hi humans!

As most of you are aware, Wednesday is usually What I Ate Wednesday (WIAW) for many blogs here in the health blog-o-sphere. I have participated a few times, but have found that since a few of my meals are eaten on-the-go or at work, it’s often hard to photograph every meal of my day!

In place of doing WIAW I decided that all week I would take photos of my food whenever I remembered/had the chance and just dumped them all here every Wednesday! Since I’m typically at home only for dinner and my night snack (AKA GIANT DESSERT) I’ll call it RECENT EATS WEDNESDAY! Feel free to join in the party.

Also just a quick little recovery update–(possible TW due to numbers but I promise it’s good!) I have started tracking my food again. No, I’m not meticulously counting macros, but after weighing myself and being shocked to discover that I was down to 86 pounds (I managed to get up to about 93 from my low of 73) without even TRYING, I realized that I need to start tracking again to make sure I have enough.

Since I started tracking I have found that I MAINTAIN my weight on 4000, lose weight on anything less, and hopefully I will gain on more. My current goal is anywhere above 4500 and the past two days I have hit almost 6000. πŸ™‚ Moral of the story is that you can eat a lot more than you think, you guys. When I first started gaining I was gaining on 3000 and now here I am struggling to gain an ounce. Our bodies are pretty incredible. And annoying. I’m just trying to gain weight here. Seriously though, I have a renewed sense of motivation.

Anyway–I’ll keep you updated on the weight gain. My goal is to get to 100 pounds by my birthday on September 24! That’s about two months. 7 pounds a month. Whew! I can do this. I CAN DOOO THIS! (Don’t worry, I won’t stop at 100. That’s just my big goal! I haven’t weighed 100 pounds and I’m 5’6 now, so this has to happen!)

Last side note: thank you SO MUCH to all of you who did my survey! I cannot believe that over 100 of you (it stops at 100) took the time to give me such quality feedback. I was laughing pretty hard at some of the answers you guys gave me. You’re pretty hilarious humans. Also, surprisingly out of the 100 responses I only had one negative Nancy whose goal was to make me feel bad about myself. Don’t worry, I don’t feel bad. I’m a queen. Bye.

Okay, on to the food of the week!

The new Quest Salted Caramel protein (SO. GOOD.) mixed with 1 c plain greek yogurt, 1 c cottage cheese, and topped with this new amazing discovery: San Franola Granola. This stuff is SO good you guys.

IMG_6991

My very unappealing overnight chia seed oats before work. Yes I realize this looks like vomit in a cup. I promise it tasted better than vomit in a cup.

IMG_6987

Toast + butter + avocado + runny egg + Sriracha = mouthgasm.

IMG_7005

Lovin’ the savory Kind bars. I don’t really do bars anymore since I am focusing on less protein, more carbs–these are super high fat and low protein though, so I can dig it.

IMG_7006 IMG_7007 IMG_7008

I just bought my first box of these Robert Irvine Fit Crunch Bars. I’m hooked. They taste like Combat Crunch but they are WAY cheaper and from Walmart. Plus, these have a cookie layer inside. They’re high fat, pretty low in protein and moderate carbs. And they are amazing.

IMG_7016 IMG_7017

Homemade pizzas! I burnt this one. So sad. Still ate it though. #IAintAfraidOfNoBurntTortilla

IMG_7019 IMG_7020

Night snack of a Banana Bread Bagel with butter and a Cor-Fetti Gain bowl topped with Kind Banana Nut Granola. I enjoy consuming like 1200 calories right before I lay down to go to sleep and I do it every day.

IMG_7024

I love these things. I won them in a giveaway and forgot about them, but I was rushing out the door a few days ago and needed a snack so I grabbed the Sriracha flavor. SO GOOD. I need to go to Whole Foods and buy MORE. Or win another giveaway.

IMG_7028

Tuna + Mayo + Cheese + Garlic Powder + Sriracha & avo toast with a side of more avo.

IMG_7029

Just lost my Hot Fudge Sundae Poptart virginity. Never going back.

IMG_7032

I ate this pint with two of the Hot Fudge Poptarts. So Delicious Cookie Dough “ice cream” is..well, so delicious.

IMG_7035

I have had these for a while since I’ve been cutting back on protein, but they sounded really good yesterday so I had two bags of them. Pretty dang good.

IMG_7037

This was literally a 5-egg omelet. Mixed with spinach and cheese and topped with hot salsa. 2 pieces of toast with garlic bread spread from Trader Joe’s. BREAKFAST FOR DINNER FOR THE WIN EVERY TIME.

IMG_7040

This Mamma Chia Vanilla Almond Granola is amazing. I had four servings of it because I needed the carbs and it didn’t even feel like I was eating that much. I love granola for that reason. Seriously–if you’re looking for a food with little volume but lots of happy points I would highly recommend granola. I think I’ve tried every brand Target has to offer. I think I’ve sold my soul to Target, actually.

IMG_7042

A pint of plain vanilla (Archer Farms brand) ice cream topped with lots of goodies– French Toast Crunch, San Franola Granola, Kind Granola, whipped cream and caramel sauce. As usual, I kept layering the goodies throughout so that I always had a perfect bite.

And there you have my recent eats! If you guys like the idea of me doing this every Wednesday please do let me know! If I ever have an original recipe I will be sure to share it as well (like my gain bowl) and I hope this can give those of you who are trying to gain weight some yummy ideas!

Like I said, I have a sort of renewed motivation to keep gaining weight. Not that I ever lost motivation, but when I wasn’t tracking food I just didn’t really think about it and felt pretty normal. Mentally, that’s a good thing but physically my body needs LOTS.

I really want to get it out of the way so I can begin to eat with common sense (I don’t necessarily agree with the term ‘intuitive eating’) and just live my life! However, the physical aspect of gaining weight is probably the hardest thing for me. I feel like I have been experiencing a hyper-metabolism for about 6 months now, and I’m wondering when it will die down.

I’m currently at the library for the first time in forever because I’m studying for work and listening to CDs that are training me to be a good salesperson. LOL. What is life.Β

Talk to me:

Which one of my recent eats looks the yummiest to you?

Are you trying to gain weight? I need weight gain buddies. Come on guys. I’m really fun and sometimes entertaining.

  1. Awesome eats Annie! It is so true that often times we underestimate how much food we need. I am glad you are back on track, and I hope you are enjoying life and aren’t too stressed out <3.

  2. I really enjoyed seeing this, and your numbers (not triggering to me). I would love to see his every week, to get some fresh ideas. It is very hard to gain, and I do get in ruts with fav foods and routines.
I must say my favorite “eats” is breakfast for dinner- all the way- every time!!

  3. My chia seed overnight oats always take on the same ‘vomit in cup’ appearance but I still love them! I don’t know how so many people on IG make them look so glamorous!
    Loved this post format too!

  4. 1 out of 100 – if that isn’t a great result then I don’t know! PLUS she obviously reads your blog AND took the time to fill in that survey. You can’t be that bad πŸ˜‰
Also, I haven’t said this yet but I’m so glad you decided to continue blogging and also share news about your weight/recovery.

Are there any news on the job you applied for?

  5. So glad you’ve kept you’re blog up!! I’m working on at home recovery too, and am DEFINITELY in the process of weight gain. If you need a gains friend, let me know. I’m living with my parents to get this to stick, I was in the same boat of gaining, then not tracking, and then my weight dropped again. so here we are. Keep it up!!

  6. I definitely like the “Recent Eats” idea! I always have trouble remembering to actually take a picture of my meals too πŸ˜‰ Just out of curiosity, why do you say that you don’t necessarily agree with the term “intuitive eating”? I’d love to hear your perspective. Anyway, keep up the good work. You’ve come really far and it’s been awesome to follow along on your journey. πŸ™‚
