{Day in the Life 8.17.15}

Hi humans!

Yesterday I did a “day-in-the-life” post because it’s been a while and you guys seemed to really enjoy it last time. Maybe it’s because I’m a freak show? Either way, here was my Monday:

day in the life

7:19 a.m.– Wake up. Roll over and look at clock. Wonder why my body always wakes up at 7:19. Look over at Jarrett to see him peacefully asleep with his trap wide open. Wonder how I got so lucky. Realize my bladder is about to explode.

7:23 a.m. – After checking my emails quickly I realize I really am going to pee my (non existent) pants. Get up and do that, and also wash my face and lotion my entire dry body. #NevadaProblems.

7:30 a.m.- Back to bed to finish scrolling through emails, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube comments, blog comments, etc.

7:50 a.m.- Grab my laptop and move off of my bed on to the ground with my backrest pillow to continue replying to emails and such. Scroll through Bloglovin’. Pet my little Oscie.

8:30 a.m.- Jarrett’s annoying phone alarm goes off. For like a solid 13 seconds, until he finally shuts it off. I say “HIIIIII!” and he half-asleep waves at me. I get up to make coffee + ensure and a cinnamon bagel for me, and plain ol’ Poptarts for him.

8:45 a.m.- I open up WordPress to start this post while Jarrett is on his phone (probably on Reddit) and begin typing away while Oscar goes crazy jumping on my bed. I start to get overwhelmed with all of things I have to remember to do today. I wash that away and get back to my happy place.

8:54 a.m. – Remember that today is the day my scholarship money is supposed to be dispersed. (I got a 1,100 dollar scholarship but then realized per the requirements you had to be enrolled in 12 credits. Since I only am in 9 in order to graduate, I had accepted I wasn’t going to get the scholarship anymore.) I checked my account just in case and I STILL WAS GIVEN THE MONEY! I excitedly text my mom and tell her the good news. What a way to start a Monday!

9:00 a.m. – I feed Oscar and Jarrett heads home to change for the gym. I make my way to the bathroom to brush my teeth and also get ‘ready’ for the gym. I catch up on my Youtube videos while I get ready and also apply self-tanner in preparation for tonight.

10:00 a.m. – I get together all my stuff for the day–work clothes, laptop for my break, packed bag full of photoshoot clothes, food, etc. I’m going to be out until about 10 tonight once I leave for work, so I make sure I am prepared.

10:15 a.m. – Jarrett texts me that he’s on his way to get me for the gym. I put on my shoes and grab my headphones and fanny pack.

i know this photo really adds to the suspense.

10:30 a.m. – Arrive at the gym and do some biceps and triceps. (NO CARDIO 4 ME!)

11:32 a.m. – Get dropped off at home by Jarrett and tell him about the plans for the rest of my day. He tells me to say hi to Oscie for him. I say “Nope!” then walk inside. Because sassy.

11:35 a.m. – Greet my weiner and ask him if he wants to go on a walk. He responds with a series of jumping all over my room and running into the kitchen by his leash. Put on Mind Body Musings podcast and head out for a short walk.

12:00 p.m. – Walk back in the door from our walk. I give Oscar water and attention whilst ignoring my roommate’s annoying and socially awkward dog then proceed to my room to change and grab my stuff.

12:05 p.m. – Throw on a dress and some sandals, grab my laptop and a Victory Bar, then shove a White Chocolate Quest Bar into my face because hangry. Okay–this Quest Bar was the chunkiest I’ve ever had. It was honestly TOO chunky. I didn’t think that was a thing! It was honestly like a solid white chocolate chunk through and through.

12:10 p.m. – Head out to work, only to be texted by my boss that we’re meeting at Starbucks instead as a team to go over stuff instead. SCORE. The particular Starbucks is 3 minutes from my house and work is about 20.

12:15 p.m. – Arrive at Starbucks, order a grande caramel frappuccino and sit to wait for my boss, manager, and another employee. Open up this post and update it.

12:30 p.m. – Meet with them for about an hour and then we’re done!

1:30 p.m. – Eat my Victory Bar (first time trying it ever–very impressed and totally doesn’t look like what I expected) and open up my laptop to get work done because I have two hours before I need to be home and lots of work to do.

2:30 p.m. – Get hungry again and fight the urge to buy something, but give in and order a Vegetable Fontiago sandwich. Verdict: amazing. Keep workin’.

3:00 p.m. –  Leave Starbucks.

3:05 p.m. – Stop by Raley’s to grab a few groceries that I need since this is literally the only time I will have to get them for a few days.

3:25 p.m. – Arrive home and change into interview clothes, fix my makeup, eat some ground turkey and a mini maple bagel (random I know), and grab my photoshoot bag. Get directions to all 3 locations that I have to go and screenshot them on my phone because ain’t nobody got the data to waste using Google Maps.

3:35 p.m. – Leave home. Head to my first interview for a big boy position at a computer firm. (Social media, graphic design, sales, CSS, website, PR stuff.)

4:00 p.m. – Interview. Got offered the job on the spot but can’t decide if I want to commit my Monday-Friday 8-5 every single week. Panic. I have until tomorrow at 4 to decide. Do I want to work & do school full time? Ugh.

5:00 p.m. – Next interview. Goes good as well, but it wasn’t really a job I was overt interested in so I block it from my memory and revert back to panic about previous job offer.

5:55 p.m. – Arrive at the photo shoot studio about 30 minutes early.

6:30 p.m- Photoshoot time. Have fun but still having an internal debate the whole time about my job offer.

8:45 p.m.- Wrap shoot. Try not to eat my own arm on the drive home. Call my mom and talk to her about my job, and we both decide (after a 30 minute convo) that I should take it despite how busy I will be.

9:00 p.m. – Get home and make food. Eat food whilst updating this post and trying to craft an e-mail to my previous boss and also to my soon-to-be boss. Feeling really overwhelmed and adult-like. Also not wearing pants.

9:15 p.m. – Shower.

9:30 p.m. – Grab ice cream pint and get back to my computer to respond to emails and freak out about life. Eat ice cream, then eat Donut Crunch cereal, cottage cheese, then eat two homemade cookies and some granola. #bignightsnacksforthewin #eatallmyfeelings

9:47 p.m. – My old bosses text me and say that it’s okay and wish me luck in my new job. Thanks, I’m going to need it. That’s for sure. (It’s a big big job.)

The rest of the night will be spent planning posts, doing some work, and then getting to sleep (maybe.)

**Update: I didn’t get to sleep until 3 because I was so busy and overwhelmed. YAY.

Wow, when I started this day in the life post I didn’t think this day would be so monumental…haha. I can’t believe I’m going to be working full time, 8-6 and going to school. I’m going to have to go to work in the morning, take my lunch hour to go to school, and then go back to work and stay late to make up for the other hour that I was at school. It’s going to be a lot. I’m worried because I am rarely going to see Jarrett and that really sucks. And I won’t have time to really blog or do Youtube, modeling, or anything else…but I’m hoping that this job will be the one for me and that it will open up doors! Also, it pays really well. So there’s that. We’re trying something, people. I might hate it. But I might not.

Anyway, that was a day in my life! My mind is in a FRENZY right now so I can’t really formulate thoughts and I apologize if the last end of this post made no sense. My brain is currently mush.

  1. I personally love reading these types of posts, especially coming from someone so busy as yourself! Congratulations on the new job offer, I hope it goes fantastic for you. Out of curiosity, are the classes you still have to take related to your journalism? Not many people are able to go to school AND take up a full time job such as yourself :)!

  2. Ooh day in the life posts are some of my faves! That sandwich looks stupendous. And did you find that you had a knack for journalism? Or did you have to take classes before you really got into it?

  3. Busy busy busy girl- reading this motivated me this morning, so thanks! I wish you the best of luck on this exploration journey of jobs and school! It’s always interesting to see how other people’s days happen.
I laughed when you said victory bar and saw the cookie dough- I recently tried them too and im hooked- they are really good!! Also, when you said Quest bar right after- victory and quest are my fav bars.
But congrats, and I can’t wait to hear more about your new job. Just remember school won’t be that much longer so hang in there! And awesome that you still got scholarship money!!! 🐞

  4. Wow, how you’d get a vegetable fontagio? Lucky. I work at Starbucks and we discontinued those a few months ago. That photo you used was from another website (manreviewsfood.com). Did you actually find them in store somewhere?
